Let's put a few things out there.
I'm back to Zwift and things are generally going pretty well. I now have a 9wk streak in Zwift - just 3 more weeks to the back pocket squirrel (Scotty!). I followed the ChatGPT generic plan pretty well, and I'm now in week 2 of a TrainerRoad AI-generated plan (but that's the subject to another post).
More importantly, I'm seeing some gains. A few weeks ago, I struggled a bit to pull a cadence above 80 rpm and 130 watts, with anything over 160 watts meaning a HR spike and blowup. Today, I'm back to my "all day" historic cruising power of 140-150 watts. When I pause the workout to go off plan, I can surge well north of 250 watts for awhile - without blowing completely up. I'm excited to see where I land at the end of this initial TR 12 wk plan.
I am off today and spent more time than I care to admit diving through Zwift Insider scheming my upgrade path. I have earned level 3 on the Zwift Steel frame, have just short of 1 million sweat drops in hand, and am about to kick over lvl37 ingame. The next few levels have some interesting unlocks (Zipp 858/Super9 wheels, Specialized xxx). This leads to some analysis paralysis.
- Do I continue to upgrade starter bikes and save my drops for upgrading the Tron? It takes a mind numbing 10M drops to fully upgrade it.
- Do I change to upgrading Specialized bikes to unlock the Specialized Halo? It takes a mind numbing 10M drops to BUY the frame, then another 10M to upgrade it.
- Do I take a middle path of upgrading the Canyon Aeroroad 2024 so that I have a reasonably
- Depending which path above I take, should I spent the 750k drops for the Zipp 858 wheels or save my drops for frame upgrades?
- Participate in the 2025 Festive 500 with the 1.8 watts/kg bot.
- Have a reasonably 'good' bike to ride at the F500, i.e. an upgraded Tron (or absent that, the Canyon or SL8).
- Continue to lose weight, towards 225 lb.
